Perhaps the company has outgrown the structures and ways of working that shaped its early success. It needs to scale, but the familiar models of growth threaten to flatten what made it responsive, coherent, and alive.
Or perhaps succession, sale, or exit is approaching. The company and the founder need to prepare for life beyond their current dependence on one another.
These are different crossings. Both begin with getting to know the terrain, discerning what must remain alive, and finding the next useful movement with the wider system.
I focus on two crossing moments.
Early success often came through speed, intuition, intimate relationships and proximity.
The founders held the whole picture. Decisions happened quickly. People knew what mattered because they were close to the work, the customers, and one another. Culture wasn’t a document you wrote or posters on a wall; it was lived.
As the company grows, this becomes harder to sustain. More people join. Decision-making stalls. Roles become less fluid. What once happened through relationship and intuition begins to need structure.
Alive at Scale is bespoke Waycraft work with founders and leadership teams whose companies are entering a different order of growth.
I begin by getting to know the terrain.
Where is the current form reaching its limits? Where are decisions, relationships, or ways of coordinating beginning to strain? What new structures are needed? What is important and needs to be retained as we scale?
From there, we shape the work together.
This may include facilitated work with the leadership team, founder-thinking partnerships, or a longer engagement to support the creation of life-enhancing structure within the company.
Work may start with the founder and the leadership team, but it always involves the people who hold the wider system with them.
I ensure that the new structures and forms create the conditions in which the company, its people, and its clients can become more alive, not less.

Exit is both a practical and an identity crossing.
The company needs to carry judgment, relationships, knowledge, and purpose without everything returning to the founder. The founder needs room to loosen a role that may have shaped much of who they have been.
Alive Through Exit holds both sides.
The work may begin before succession, sale, or departure is fully defined. We will orient to what the company still needs from you, what must become possible without you, and what you may be moving towards next.
This is systemic work. Preparing the company to thrive beyond the founder means working with the people, relationships, and structures that will carry it.
Preparing the founder means making space for the identity crossing alongside the practical demands of exit.
The aim is more than preserving a legacy. It is to allow both the company and the founder to remain capable of becoming.
[Talk to me about Alive Through Exit]
Every engagement begins with a single orienting conversation.
We find out where you are, what is changing, and what feels most at risk. We look at the crossing from the founder’s perspective and from the perspective of the wider system.
From there, we decide what would be useful and who else needs to become part of the work.
The conversation does not commit you to a programme. It gives us enough orientation to discern the next step, including whether I am the right person to accompany you.
